PE-2 REPLACEMENT INSTRUCTIONS - 2 MINUTES

  1. Turn water OFF at angle stop (optional - each coupler has built-in shut-off). Place towel under connections.
  2. Determine proper filter flow direction - arrows run top to bottom.
  3. Press down on stainless steel tabs until click is heard on both filter couplers.
  4. Align bottom filter coupler with bottom insert of filtration unit and snap into place.
  5. Align top coupler with top insert and snap into place - water flow starts automatically.
  6. FLUSH 5 MINUTES - run full continuous flow to saturate filter and purge air/carbon fines. Flush BEFORE connecting to ice makers/appliances.
  7. Check all connections for leaks under full pressure.
  8. Done. Replace annually or when flow slows. 1/4" Super Speedfit design prevents carbon fines reaching appliances.

Solid carbon block filters crush activated carbon into an ultra-dense structure (0.5-10 micron rating), forcing water through a tortuous, maze-like path that maximizes contact time—far superior to granulated activated carbon (GAC)'s loose 20-micron granules, which suffer from channeling where water bypasses much of the media, leaving contaminants untouched and creating bacterial hotspots.

Unlike GAC, prone to uneven flow, reduced efficiency over time, and stagnant pockets fostering microbes, our PE-series carbon blocks eliminate bypass entirely for uniform filtration across every square inch.

They mechanically trap sediments, cysts, and particulates down to sub-micron levels while adsorbing chlorine (superior reduction rates), VOCs, bad odors/tastes, endocrine disruptors like BPA, and heavy metals such as lead and mercury—delivering higher contaminant removal, consistent performance, and predictable lifespan ideal for under-sink point-of-use purity.

Our premium solid carbon block is designed to meet or exceed the requirements of NSF/ANSI Standards 42 and 53 for aesthetic and health effects.

Certifications & Standards

The Carbon Block Filter conforms to ANSI/NSF International Standards:

  • NSF/ANSI Standard 42 – Aesthetic Effects
    • Chemical Reduction Unit: Taste, Color, and Chlorine Reduction – Class I
    • Particulate Reduction Unit: Particulate Reduction – Class I
  • NSF/ANSI Standard 53 – Health Effects
    • Mechanical Filtration Unit: Turbidity Reduction

Key Performance Reductions

  • Removes 99% of cysts (including Giardia and Cryptosporidium)
  • Removes 99% of chlorine for dramatically improved taste and odor
  • Reduces sediment, rust, turbidity, pesticides, herbicides, and other organic contaminants
  • Improves the quality of drinking water, ice, and other beverages

Technical Specifications

Genuine PE-2 replacement cartridge restores full performance to your PE-2 system using the same solid carbon block technology—dense 0.5-10 micron structure crushes activated carbon for tortuous paths and extended contact time, crushing GAC's loose 20-micron granules that channel water and breed bacteria.

Quick Disconnect technology with fingertip shutoff makes swaps mess-free—no plumber needed. Automatic water shutoff prevents spills during changes.

Advanced Water Systems engineers these filters to exceed industry standards. Extended contact time ensures every drop maximizes contaminant removal—chlorine, VOCs, odors, BPA, lead—delivering pristine, great-tasting water for 1,500 gallons on municipal supply. Simple snap-in design matches your PE-2's 1/4" Super Speedfit fittings. Flush 5 minutes before use.
